WRC Faculty Announcement: REL PG Psychiatry

The Michael G. DeGroote School of Medicine, McMaster University – Waterloo Regional Campus (WRC) is pleased to announce the appointment of Dr. Andriy Samokhvalov as Regional Education Leader – Postgraduate Psychiatry effective September 1, 2021. Andriy is currently the medical director and staff psychiatrist of the comprehensive psychiatric care/assessment and stabilization unit at Homewood Health Centre in Guelph. Andriy will be responsible for the continued development and operationalization of the WRC Postgraduate Psychiatry programming within our region.

Andriy replaces Dr. Shuang Xu, who has served the Regional Education Leader for Postgraduate Psychiatry since 2018. We thank Dr. Xu for his dedication and expertise in leading the postgraduate psychiatry program in the Waterloo Region. His support for enhancing Psychiatry Resident education is greatly appreciated.
