McMaster University’s Michael G. DeGroote School of Medicine, Undergraduate Medical Education program selects candidates who demonstrate the potential to become Canada’s future healthcare leaders.

To apply for the McMaster University’s UGME Program, follow these steps:

1. Review “Who Should Apply”
2. Review “Before you Apply”
3. Apply online through the Ontario Medical School Application System (OMSAS).
   • All applications to Ontario medical schools must be submitted online through OMSAS by the application deadline indicated.
   • Review the OMSAS Application Guide for McMaster University, Michael G. DeGroote School of Medicine for more information on application deadlines and requirements.
4. Ensure ALL application materials are submitted by the application deadline.
5. Review the OMSAS verification report to ensure that your application is complete.

Application for admission to the six Ontario medical schools are submitted through the Ontario Medical School Application Service (OMSAS). To apply to McMaster University’s Michael G. DeGroote School of Medicine, Undergraduate Medical Education program, applicants must register and create an account with OMSAS.

The application opens in early-mid July. The application deadline is in early October for admission the following August.

Please be aware that application deadlines are strictly enforced. All required documentation must be provided by the specified deadlines as outlined on the OMSAS website. Applicants who fail to comply with deadlines and/or requirements will be disqualified.
